The main applications of quartz glass products include lighting and semiconductor industries. In lighting products, quartz glass is widely used in high-temperature arc filament and filament lamps which require high purity to reduce the loss of transparency and provide better resistance to sagging. The characteristics of quartz glass help to improve the service life of these lamps at high operating temperature.
The world's leading semiconductor manufacturers also use quartz glass in a variety of ways. Common applications include furnace tubes, end caps, transfer carriers, thermocouple tubes, wafer carriers, end plates, baffles for oxidation, CVD (chemical vapor deposition) and diffusion processes, and bell housings for epitaxial reactors. Crucible from which monocrystalline silicon is pulled; bell jar for CVD; cleaning bath after etching and processing; pipe, boat and other clamps for heat treatment.
