(1) Difference between tempered glass and semi tempered glass
Through high temperature and quenching, the internal and external molecular structure of annealed glass has changed greatly. Therefore, the surface has strong compressive stress and the internal has uniform and strong tensile stress, which increases the mechanical strength of the glass several times. This kind of glass is tempered glass The processing principle of semi toughened glass is the same as that of toughened glass, but the mechanical strength is lower than that of toughened glass.
Surface stress of tempered glass: 69-168mpa
Surface stress of semi tempered glass: 24-69mpa
(2) Characteristics of tempered and semi tempered glass
1. Tempered glass
a. Safety: it is broken into small obtuse particles after rupture, which will not cause significant harm to human body.
b. High strength: generally 4 times or more than the strength of ordinary glass.
c. Deflection: 3 ~ 4 times higher than ordinary glass. For example, the deflection of 6 * 1200 * 350 (mm) glass can reach 100mm. The bending strength of 6mm tempered glass can reach 1700kg / cm2.
d. Thermal stability: tempered glass has good thermal stability. The temperature difference of tempered glass is 2.5 ~ 3 times that of annealed glass, and the maximum service temperature is close to 300 ℃. It can meet the environmental cold and heat change, sunshine, indoor and outdoor shading, heat shock of heating or air conditioning that must be considered in architecture.
2. Semi tempered glass
The glass installed in some parts of the building does not involve personal safety, and it is also necessary to install tempered glass to increase the wind pressure strength and hail resistance. However, it is hoped that once the glass breaks in an accident, it will not be completely broken or the deformation of the glass shall be as small as possible. Semi tempered glass can be installed in these parts. The strength of semi tempered glass is more than twice that of annealed glass. However, the broken pieces are large, which is similar to annealed glass and cannot be used as safety glass. The bending and deflection of semi tempered glass are smaller than that of tempered glass, and its thermal stability is obviously better than that of annealed glass.
