Embossed glass, also known as calendered glass, is a flat glass made by continuous calendering. The continuous calendering method was invented by Ford glass company in 1925, that is, the liquid glass is pulled forward to the annealing kiln with the rotation of the roller through a pair of water-cooled rollers.
Generally, the surface of the lower roller has concave convex patterns, and the upper roller is a polishing roller, so as to make embossed glass with patterns on one side. The physical and chemical properties of embossed glass are basically the same as those of ordinary transparent flat glass. It only has the characteristics of light transmission and opacity in optics, but the light is soft, and it has the function of privacy protection and certain decorative effect. Embossed glass is suitable for indoor partitions of buildings, toilet doors and windows, and various occasions that need to block the line of sight. Now, ultra white embossed glass is also widely used in the field of photovoltaic.
