The melting of heat-resistant glass is one of the most important processes for manufacturing heat-resistant glass. It also has a series of physical and chemical changes. Due to the different chemical composition of each batch, the changes and reactions of heat-resistant glass during melting are different, as shown below:
1、 Physical process:
① Powder heated
② Discharge of adsorbed water
③ Melting of individual components
④ Polycrystalline transformation
⑤ Individual component volatilization
2、 Chemical process:
① Solid state reaction
② Salt decomposition
③ Hydrate decomposition
④ Discharge of chemically bound water
⑤ Reaction of various components to form silicate
3、 Physicochemical process
① Products of low temperature eutectic
② Mutual dissolution
③ Interaction between glass and gas in furnace
④ Interaction between liquid glass and refractory
These physical and chemical reaction processes of heat-resistant glass are divided into five processes:
① Silicate formation
② Glass forming stage
③ Glass clarification
④ Liquid glass homogenization
⑤ Liquid glass cooling
The above five stages are different from and related to each other. In practice, they are not carried out in strict order, and are often carried out synchronously.
