What is the difference between tempered glass and heat-resistant glass
Tempered glass is a glass with compressive stress on the surface. Also known as strengthened glass.
Tempered glass usually uses chemical or physical methods to increase the strength of the glass. Compressive stress is formed on the surface of the glass.
When the glass is subjected to external force, the surface stress is first offset, thereby improving the load-bearing capacity and enhancing the glass's own resistance to wind pressure, cold and heat, and impact.
Heat-resistant glass refers to the special glass that can withstand the temperature difference of cold and heat fusion. It has a series of excellent properties such as low expansion, thermal shock resistance,
heat resistance, corrosion resistance, and high strength.
It is mostly used for utensils, industrial boiler sight glasses, and mechanical equipment window glasses. Wait. So, what is the difference between tempered glass and heat-resistant glass?
1. Different uses
Tempered glass is widely used in construction, decoration, automobile manufacturing industry (doors and windows, curtain walls, interior decoration, etc.), furniture manufacturing industry (furniture matching, etc.),
home appliance manufacturing industry (TVs, ovens, air conditioners, refrigerators, etc.).
Heat-resistant glass is mainly used in the daily necessities industry (heat-resistant glass crisper, heat-resistant glass tableware, etc.), and the medical industry (mostly used in medical ampoules and experimental beakers).
2. The influence of temperature changes is different
Heat-resistant glass is a kind of strong thermal shock resistance (can withstand rapid cooling and rapid heat temperature changes, and has a small thermal expansion coefficient).
It uses glass with high temperature (high strain temperature and high softening temperature).
It can be used safely when changing.
Tempered glass may be broken after a sudden temperature change in the microwave oven. In the process of making tempered glass, it contains "nickel sulfide".
As time and temperature change, the glass will expand and there is a possibility of self-explosion.
When heat-resistant glass is broken, it cracks and does not fly. Heat-resistant glass does not have the risk of spontaneous explosion due to nickel sulfide, because heat-resistant glass gradually cools down,
and there is no energy for condensation inside the glass, so it breaks Time will not fly away.
When the tempered glass is broken, it will break and fly. During the tempering process, the glass will form a prestress and condensate energy, so when it is broken or self-exploded,
the condensed energy will be released, forming fragments and flying, and at the same time produce Explosion.
