During glass cutting, different operation methods shall be adopted according to the varieties, thickness and overall dimensions of different glasses to ensure the key points of glass cutting. When cutting different glasses, the following operation points shall be mastered:
1). 2 ~ 3mm glass cutting. When cutting this kind of glass, use a 12mm * 12mm wooden straight edge, measure the glass door and window frame with a folding rule, and then set the size on the straight edge. At this time, consider 3mm neutral and 2mm knife edge. During operation, firmly hold the small nail on the ruler against one end of the glass, and the glass knife against the other end of the glass. Hold the small nail with one hand against the edge of the glass without looseness, and hold the knife edge with the other hand to draw back smoothly and straightly without uneven weight and bending.
2). 4 ~ 5mm glass cutting. In addition to mastering the general methods of glass cutting, cutting 4-5mm glass should also follow the following methods: cut with a 5 * 40MM ruler and a glass knife close to the ruler. During operation, brush an appropriate amount of kerosene on the knife edge in advance, which can not only prevent the glass from getting too dry and smooth, but also cause stress concentration due to oil leakage at the scoring, which is easy to dry cut.
3) 4 ~ 6mm thick large glass cutting. The method for cutting large glass with a thickness of 4 ~ 6mm is the same as that for cutting with a 5mm * 40MM ruler. However, due to the large area of glass, the operator stands on the glass obliquely to cut it. Before cutting, the operator shall pad the glass on the operating platform with lint cloth to make the glass press evenly.
4). Cutting of glass strips. The width of the glass strip used is 8 ~ 12mm. When cutting, use a 5 * 30MM ruler to fix the nails on the ruler on the table top, nail two small nails on the table top about 2 ~ 3mm to the right of the ruler to block the glass, and then nail a small nail on the left table top close to the lower end of the ruler. Use a glass knife to close to the right side of the ruler to cut the required broken glass strip. After taking out the glass strip, push the large broken glass forward until it hits the nail. After leaning against the ruler, it can be cut continuously.
