Simple, practical and ideal method of cutting glass tube
1. Cut a file mark with a glass knife or wind file at the cutting position of the borosilicate glass pipe, then circle the file mark with cotton thread, and then drip alcohol, light the cotton thread for about one minute, drip a few drops of water at the file mark, and the pipe can be disconnected along the file mark.
2. Cut the waste newspaper into 5mm-7mm wide strips, then put the strips into water for soaking, and take them out. The wet paper strip along the glass tube cutting line is close to the tube wall around 1-4 circles. Be sure to keep the newspaper tidy. Light the alcohol lamp, aim the cutting line of the tube at the flame of the alcohol lamp, and keep turning the tube. After the tube is hot, put it in cold water to disconnect.
3. Put edible oil into the quartz glass tube to the cutting line (and reserve the iron bar margin), then insert the red iron bar into the oil, and the glass tube will be disconnected along the oil surface.
4. It can also cut glass tube, glass tube and bulb with self-made resistance wire cutter. Attention shall be paid to cutting: first, 1mm-2mm space shall be reserved at the junction of resistance wire winding for one cycle to avoid short circuit. Second, the glass tube should be cut off immediately after dripping.
