Quartz sight glass

Quartz sight glass has high chemical and thermal, in addition, not only at room temperature, and corrosion resistance of various acid, aqua regia, neutral salt, sulfur and carbon at high temperature and chemical resistance than Ni Cr alloy and ceramic 150 times, good acid resistant materials.

Quartz sight glass is acidic. It is relatively poor in alkali resistance and alkali resistant salt. It can produce soluble silicate with this type of reagent, so it is not suitable for producing strong alkaline reaction apparatus.

Below 800oC, except for PbO, quartz sight glass is not corroded by metal oxides. 800oC above react with ZnO and R2O (R represents alkali metal), 900oC above react with BaO, MgO and Fe2O3. Above 1000oC reacted with AI2O3 and CaO. The corrosion-effect of molten metal on quartz sight glass is different. The corrosion resistance of Ag, Au, Cd, Hg, Pt, Mo, Sn, W and Zn is reacted with Ca above 600oC. It reacts with those of above, above and above. Silicon has erosion on quartz glass, while carbon is more than 1800oC and react with quartz sight glass. Below 850oC, silica glass does not react with Na2CO3. 900oC below quartz glass reacts with Na2So4, while 800oC, sodium, borax and calcium chloride strongly attack quartz sight glass.
