The optical properties of quartz glass are unique. It can not only pass through the far ultraviolet spectrum, but also pass through the visible and near infrared spectrum. The user can select the desired variety from 185-3500m μ band as required. Due to its high temperature resistance, small coefficient of thermal expansion, good chemical thermal stability, bubble, stripe, uniformity and birefringence, quartz glass is an indispensable optical material with high stability in all kinds of adverse situations.
The structure, impurity content, oh gene and no, CO content of quartz glass are the main factors that affect the spectral transmittance. The absorption peak occurs at 0.24 μ when the oxygen atom is not well combined. The absorption peak will appear at 2.7 μ when the quartz glass contains OH group. The low UV transmittance is mainly due to the atomic absorption spectrum caused by the metal impurities.
