Quartz tubes can be roughly divided into the following categories: transparent quartz tubes (outer diameter 1.5mm~300mm), ultraviolet quartz filters, color quartz tubes, etc.
1. The softening point temperature of high temperature resistant quartz glass is about 1730 C, which can be used for a long time at 1100 C, and the maximum temperature can reach 1450 C in a short time.
2. Except hydrofluoric acid, quartz glass hardly reacts with other acids. Its acid resistance is 30 times that of ceramics and 150 times that of stainless steel. Especially at high temperature, its chemical stability is incomparable with any other engineering materials.
3. Good thermal stability: the thermal expansion coefficient of quartz glass is very small, and it can withstand drastic temperature changes. When quartz glass is heated to about 1100 C, it will not burst in normal temperature water.
4. Good transmittance: Quartz glass has good transmittance in the whole spectrum band from ultraviolet to infrared. The transmittance of visible light is over 93%, especially in the ultraviolet spectrum region, the maximum transmittance can reach more than 80%.
5. Good electrical insulation performance: Quartz glass has 10,000 times the resistance of ordinary glass, and is an excellent electrical insulation material. Even at high temperature, it also has good insulation performance.
