When cutting glass, different methods of operation should be adopted according to the variety, thickness and shape size of different glasses to ensure the cutting points. When cutting different glasses, the following points should be mastered separately:
1) Cutting 2-3 mm glass. When cutting this kind of glass, you can use a 12 mm * 12 mm bar ruler to measure the glass doors and windows frame with a folding ruler, and then determine the size on the ruler. At this time, 3 mm gap and 2 mm cutting edge should be considered. In operation, the small nail on the ruler is close to one end of the glass, the glass knife is close to the other end of the glass, one hand holds the small nail close to the edge of the glass, and the other hand holds the knife edge straight and backward, so that there can be no uneven light and weight and no straight bending.
2) 4-5mm glass cutting. In addition to grasping the general method of glass cutting, cutting 4-5mm glass should be done according to the following methods: "Cutting with a 5*40mm ruler, glass knife is close to the ruler. When operating, the knife edge is pre-brushed with appropriate kerosene, which can not only prevent the glass knife from being too smooth, but also make the scratch oil seepage produce stress concentration and easy to cut.
3) Cutting large glass with thickness of 4-6 mm. Cutting large glass with thickness of 4-6 mm is the same as cutting with a ruler of 5,mm*40 mm. However, because of the large area of glass, the operator slips it on the glass slowly. Before cutting, the operator applies a flannel mat on the operating table to make the glass compressed more evenly. After cutting, he holds the glass tightly with both hands and notifies the downward pull-off.
4) Cutting of glass strips. The width of the glass strip used is 8-12 mm. When cutting, the length of the glass strip is 5*30 mm. Fixed the nails on the ruler on the table, nailed two small nails to block the glass at about 2-3 mm from the right side of the ruler, and then nailed a small nail on the left side of the table near the lower end of the ruler. With a glass knife close to the right side of the ruler, cut out the required glass strip, take out the glass strip, and then push the large glass forward until it touches the nail. With a good ruler, continuous cutting can be carried out.
