From raw materials to craftsmanship: Unveiling the "flawless" mystery of ultra white glass
The "flawless" quality of ultra white glass comes from rigorous raw material selection and precise process control. On the raw material side, traditional glass appears green due to its high iron content (about 0.1%), while ultra white glass uses 99.9% pure quartz sand to control the iron content below 0.015%, which is equivalent to 1/10 of ordinary glass. This high-purity raw material needs to go through multiple processes such as magnetic separation to remove iron and flotation purification to ensure a silicon dioxide content of over 99.5%.
In terms of melting process, ultra white glass adopts full oxygen combustion technology, and the kiln temperature needs to be precisely controlled within the range of 1600 ℃± 5 ℃. The special clarifying agent formula increases the bubble discharge rate to 99.99%, and is combined with platinum channels for liquid glass homogenization treatment to control optical distortion within 0.1 arc minutes. During the molding stage, an ultra flat tin bath is used, with temperature fluctuations of the tin solution not exceeding ± 0.5 ℃, to achieve nanometer level flatness on the glass surface.
The final annealing process adopts a gradient cooling curve, slowly cooling for 72 hours to eliminate internal stress. The visible light transmittance of the finished product reaches over 91.5%, and the ultraviolet transmittance is 30% higher than that of ordinary glass. This manufacturing system controlled at the molecular level ultimately achieved the visual miracle of ultra white glass being "transparent and flawless".
